A Quarter Century of Communication

Honor our friend Cindy Lange-Kubick during her retirement with a donation in her name!

For a quarter century, as a columnist in the pages of the Lincoln Journal-Star, Cindy Lange-Kubick has been searching out and telling the stories of our community.

The best of her columns (and that’s most of them) tell the stories of everyday Nebraskans. They live in the metro area and in out-state Nebraska, some lead businesses and some do the sweeping up when the doors have closed and everyone has gone home. Many have passions that have nothing to do with the 9-to-5 work world. Her work not only provides the facts but also spotlights ordinary people and allows their voices to be heard. Since announcing her retirement, she has been wrapping up many of her columns with a postscript, which you can read about here.

To honor Cindy as she leaves “the world’s best job” at the end of the month, we invite you to contribute to an effort to make sure those stories continue to be heard.

Click the button below to make a tax-deductible contribution to Lincoln Literacy before the end of August, adding your name to the Cindy Lange-Kubick entry in our online Book of Honor. Later this fall, to keep her legacy alive, Lincoln Literacy will premiere The CLK Stories Collection, which will feature some of the stories we have gathered from our adult students worldwide.

If you prefer, you can send a check to Lincoln Literacy at 1023 Lincoln Mall, Ste. 104, Lincoln, NE 68508. If a financial gift is out of reach, there are always opportunities to tutor a new English learner or adult skills student.
